Hallo Leute!

Sagt mal, kann ich mit meinem Deutschen Staatsexamen in Australien als Arzt arbeiten? Kennt jemand vielleicht sogar eine kleine Liste wo ich überall arbeiten / nicht arbeiten kann?

Changes to Registration for International Medical Graduates (IMGs)
to take effect from 1 July 2008

Dear Doctor,

We would like to bring to your attention that from the 1st July 2008, IMGs seeking registration to work in Australia will need to apply via one of the following pathways:

1. Standard Pathway
This pathway is for IMGs whose primary medical qualification was
undertaken in a country OUTSIDE of the UK, Canada, USA, or New Zealand; AND have not completed a bridging program and obtained full registration to work in either of these countries. Requirements: you will need to successfully complete the Australian Medical Council, Multiple Choice Questionnaire (AMC MCQ examination) - click here for further details.

2. Competent Authority (CA) Pathway
The CA pathway for IMGs is now available for applicants who obtained their primary medical degree in the UK, Canada, USA, or New Zealand, OR have completed a relevant bridging program, AND have completed 12 months supervised training with full medical registration. Requirements:

3. Specialist Pathway
For IMGs who have obtained a specialist qualifications overseas.
Requirement: Post-graduate specialist qualifications are to be assessed by the relevant Australian medical college - click here for further details.

Please ensure you commence the relevant process pertaining to your application as soon as possible, or contact one of our consultants to discuss further.

PLEASE NOTE: if your medical registration is completed by 1st July 2008, the above mentioned changes will not apply to you.
