Fresh graduate chances to be assistenarzt

Halo everyone,

I am still an intern and I wonder if it possible for a foreign fresh graduate with certified German language and additional course certificate for the related job but don't work experience yet to apply for assistenzarzt position?

Well, in the other threads he said "Indonesia", so no EU-Citizen, I would presume ;) I would think that your chances of getting a job here are most directly related to your German language skills. I have no idea what the job market for cardiology is like, but in general I would say it's a little harder to get into a Universitätsklinikum than into a "regular" city hospital. As for rules and regulations (e.g., concerning equivalence), I have no idea....

Halo GOMER, I am not EU-Citizenship because Ich komme aus Indonesia.
I will be finish approximately 6 month from now and next step I will chasing ZD certificate in Goethe Institute for German language in 3 month course.

I have interest in Cardiology resident in German.

Yes you are right surfsmurf, Indonesia is where I come. As I said to GOMER above, I will improving my German in Goethe with ZD certificate.

1. What is the different between taking residency in Universitatklinikum and residency in the "regular" city hospital?

2. Is there any different in the degree that we will get?

3. Can you suggest me any state or klinik that would take a candidate such as my qualification?

What are the chances to get job as assistentarzt/-arztin for 2 EU citizens (Poland).Me and my girlfriend graduated a month ago , and now we are on our training year.We plan to emigrate after that year. So what are the chances for orthopedic surgery for me and dermatology for her. From what i read, it is not so easy as far as dermatology is concerned , or is it ?. We have just started our german course , but i think we''ll manage to get goethe b2 in the year. Is the language certificate very important?, or just what you can matters? What is the time you must spend in hospital while doing your specjalization weekly ?, how much shifts you must take monthly ? I am asking because i have one year from now and emigration is very tough decision so i''ll be grateful for every point of view i might get from you.

Wow, after almost a year ... you found a job then? I just came back from indonesia doing my pflegepraktikum there. I learned assistenzaerzte in indonesia actually dont earn money, but they have to pay to do their job, since the facharztausbildung is seen as part of the education process. Still some of the german assistenzaerzte will complain bout earning too less, ironic, isnt it? Anyways, good luck here

I'm an EU citizen with a non-EU MD degree
what are the requirements for me in order to do my medical residency in Germany?
Is it possible to get assistenzarzt post in specialties like ophthalmology or radiology, without previous experience in those fields?
I'd be very grateful if u could help me:-))

It's quite easy. You have to contact the local Landesärztekammer first in oder to learn whether they will (or won't) accept your medical degree and give you the Approbation. If they don't, they will tell you what you need to do in order to get the necessary status; if they do, you pick up your Approbation and start applying for a residency position (Assistenzarzt).

The competitiveness of a specialty depends on where you want to do your residency. If you want to be in a big city, then prepare to collect rejections in a row. If you can accept living in a small town for a couple of years, then your chances increase strongly, especially in radiology. Ophtalmology isn't easy to find in small hospitals, so it's more competitive.

First of all: learn german!

It is impossible for a non-EU citizen to get the Approbation. At best they can get a Berufserlaubnis, which is limited in duration and possibly location.

Oh, I see that you are in fact a EU citizen. I confused you with someone else earlier, sorry. But you don't have a EU medical degree. In that case getting the Approbation depends on whether your non-EU medical degree is deemed equivalent by the authorities (of course all the other requirements such as sufficient German skills have to be met as well). If that is the case, you don't have to take an exam.

if you are an EU citizen then you can get the approbation. there is an exam that you need to give though. you'll have to check with the landesaerztekammer where you plan to apply for approbation. i think its a viva exam, but so far nobody has been able to tell me what books to read. so its not like for example plab or usmle.
