When I woke up this morning I realized that I had dreamt in ENGLISH!!! So I thought of this section of the board once again (no, I' not going to tell you about my dream :-D) having been neglected for quite a long time.

Let's give our English just another chance to develop (it's always good to start with simple things, though ;-))

You should go and have an exhausting next weekend - and you will see that even you will be able to sleep :-)). Mine was very packed, so apparently my brain had something to do :-D

I know how it is to dream in a foreign language:
It happend an sometimes still happens to me that I dream in German.
If this happens in holidays, when I sleep with others in a room, they always wonder how this can happen (even while sleeping I can't shout up....:-nix :-))

My English is getting worse and worse (I thinking now for some moments how the term bad ist gesteigert).

I practice my English in every tutorial I give. It's the best thing to train my English, although I never liked talking English very much. :-(

Hm, I liked talking, but grammar ("concordance des temps") and finding the right preposition was not really funny, so at school I really hated English lessons.
Spanish was more naturally, closer to latin and french...so I wanted to finish this hated English-subject as soon as possible, but now I was happy, if I was more fluently,....and I lost soooooooo much of it (but that is the same for my German language skills too.....).

English is the reason I'll have to wait for being a student. But what shall I do. I'm a horrible english-speaker... :(

Dreaming in English? Nothing to worry about. When I finish one of my TV sessions in English (I prefer watching movies and TV shows in their native language), I sometimes have to remember to switch back to German ^^.

Nonetheless, after I have read this thread it occurs to me that even those being proficient in English are a bit reluctant to actually use it.

Since Ms. Daisy ;) initiated the idea of practicing English in written form, I propose to not let this thread die.

So pray tell me: how did cultivate your English?

Even though I had English as an A level at school and passed the CAE, I never dreamt in English.
Apart from that, most of my dreams just happen.. I know what is said and done but I'm not able to categorize the language.
There is direct speech but not in terms of a real, existing linguistic idiom.
I'm not sure if I illustrated this understandably :-))

Well, I have already experienced something similiar to your dreams. Once upon a time at school (it seems to be soooooooooooo far away although I have just finished school this summer) I began to write in English while dealing with "Faust" during our German lessons.
