"Glasgow Gomer Scale"
Wer mit dem Begriff 'Gomer' nichts anfangen kann (es soll angeblich doch noch solche Leute geben ;)), der lese dies bitte in "House of God" von Samuel Shem nach.
The Glasgow Gomer Scale (or GGS) is to be applied to all admitted patients to the hospital. Any patient found with a GGS Score of >50 is definitely a Gomer (or Gomere) and requires buffing and turfing. A GGS of 20-50 suggests borderline gomatose.
1. Admitting note from outpatient division ends with "sorry" 10P
2. Patient´s clothes refused by both laundry and security and subsequently must be destroyed 13P
3. Patient has been evicted from 4 nursing homes of decreasing class in prior 4 months 7P
4. Tuberculosis discovered: (a) 1 week after successful CPR which included mouth to mouth support 8P
(b) After unsuccessful CPR 15P
5. Attempt at discharge by resident fails 6P (Each additional attempt 6P)
6. Motile sperm in CSF (cerebrospinal fluid) 9P
7. Urinates on (I) physician 8P (II) nurse 6P (III) RMO 4P (IV) Visitors 2P (V) Med student 0P

23. Fractures hip (a) whilst in hospital 3P (b) under general 6P (c) whilst in traction for other hip 9P
24. Removes own (a) IV 2P (b) NG tube 3P (c) peritoneal catheter 5P (d) chest tube 8P (e) ventriculo-peritoneal shunt 15P
