A little help for one sentence - Ausbildungsbestätigung

Hello dear colleagues, I´m sorry but my english is a bit out of order ;-).
I was thinking and thinking about the translation of one sentence I have to prepare for my supervisor, but I can´t work it out properly :-wow.
I don´t want to show him a text that is totally ridiculous....

It´s supposed to be a confirmation of my residency status. I want to participate in an international congress, and to get a reduced fee I have to send a short letter written by my head of department telling that I´m enrolled as a resident (Assitenzarzt) in his laboratory, being trained in laboratory medicine.
My supervisor wanted me to prepare this text myself.

Could anybody help me?

To whom it may concern oder besser Nennung des Ansprechpartner/Organisationsbüros des Kongresses

oder
is currently undertaking postgraduate studies at our University....Department of Laboratory medicine....

I would say "is taking part in" and "undergoing postgraduate studies" (edit: "undertaking" seems to be quite common, too).
