The whole point of me going to Germany is to do Neurosurgery.
Actually there are several training vacancy in Neurosurgery in Germany in University Hospitals or municipal hospitals. It should be very easy to get a job with Berufserlaubnis or Approbation.

Yeah i'm aware and i've been told i'm basically guaranteed one (several neuro publications) provided I pass the language tests etc.

The problem is my German friend (who's a doctor) said that registering for the KP and taking it (which I now have to take thanks to brexit) takes up to 6+ months apparently? So the whole point of the Schweiz idea was to try and bypass this 6+ months waiting time but I guess I could locum in the UK during that time and make some good money to really support myself in Deutschland.

    Good plan!
Maybe you don't have to do the KP....case to case!

The regulations after Brexit are ridiculous. As a German citizen with German "Approbation" I have to sit PLAB before I can work in the UK as a specialist. As Swiss citizens I can transfer all the qualification without passing any exams.

So times are changing with BREXIT. I think it is quite important to be able to speak/write fluently.
In Germany we don't have PLAB, I had a lot of collegues without good knowledge in german resulting in lots of misunderstanding.
